VMF engineering officers to attend VIT trainings

The Acting Commander of the Vanuatu Mobile Force (VMF), Kalshem Bongran, has confirmed that the engineering training facilitated by the New Zealand (NZ) Defense Force for the VMF officers has been cancelled due to COVID-19.

Although the opportunity in New Zealand has been blocked by the pandemic this year, VMF will be looking towards local institutions as a substitute.

“This year our trainings have not happened because of COVID-19, however we are looking at options locally.

“We are looking at officers engaging in engineering trainings at the Vanuatu Institute of Technology (VIT),” said Commander Bongran.

The acting VMF commander mentioned that despite the vast experience and knowledge his officers possess, there is always room for growth, hence the switch to Vanuatu Institute of Technology.
