VIT Head discloses 2021 plans

The Vanuatu Institute of Technology (VIT) has introduced the incorporation of 16 certificate level four programmes, which aligns with scholarship opportunities this year.

Acting VIT Principal, Mr Wade Evans made the confirmation to the 96Buzz FM and Daily Post.

He said the ‘full-ride’ into certificate level four on the table creates a powerful incentive for students to get the golden ticket.

“We have Certificate IV in Finance and Accounting which is available and it is going to be delivered from first semester this year,” he said.

“It also qualifies VIT to have its first scholarship under the Vanuatu government scholarship because the policy is that only Certificate IV qualifications qualify for scholarship.”

Acting Principal Wade said it is no secret that VIT needed some much-needed upgrades and currently with the new changes, they are getting to where they want to be on the Vanuatu framework as well as the regional framework is Certificate IV.

“We decided we’d deliver Certificate IV because we felt that yes Vanuatu had developed at such a rate and level where there is a need for Certificate IV where we will have our graduates able to compete in markets here in Vanuatu, and also the regional labor markets,” said Mr Evans.
